What is Fruitport Fire Select?
There
are a significant number of players available that already
either play travel, or are ready to embark on a more
competitive level of play a step up from recreation. Our aim
is to continue to work together with the FRUITPORT ICE so
all players have a place to play which compliments their
ability and commitment level.
What
is the Commitment?
Travel
teams practice twice per week and play an 8 game regular
season on Saturdays, Sundays, and an occasional weekday.
Away games are generally not more than 1 hour away. Weekend
tournaments will also be scheduled depending on the level
and interest of players. Teams are put together for both
Fall and Spring seasons (other than High School teams).
Because of the level of play, all players should get playing
time, but equal playing time is not guaranteed.
What will tryouts be like?
We will
attempt to rate players mostly on their technical skills
(ability to pass and receive, use both feet, etc.).
Other areas of consideration include: speed of play,
finishing, and defending in small-sided situations.
Where do we register?
Please
complete both the Medical Release and Player Registration
forms and submit them at tryouts. You will be notified
within 14 days after the tryout if you will be invited to
join one of the teams.
Annual Registration Fees:
U9/10 - $140
U11 and above - $200 HS - $125
